West Branch is proud to welcome Dave Laro of White River Junciton, Vermont to our ranks! There’s always a story, or two, or ten, behind the found objects local artist Dave Laro uses to create his wildly clever “pop constructions.” Layers of meaning go deeper than the origins of their re-purposed parts, as some of Dave’s constructions reveal themselves with the simplicity of a nursery rhyme and others peel back to expose politically suggestive foundations. It’s viewer’s choice as to how far to go. Hear a little about Dave’s own story and take a peek inside of his incredible studio in this mini-documentary produced by Ben Silberfarb.
See his work in the gallery and on the web here. Welcome to the WB family, Dave!
