Rebecca Kinkead’s Bicycle

Rebecca Kinkead described her paintings as an “attempt to explore a collective human experience.” Bicycle is a great example of what she means. A boy in red shorts pedals his bike; his arms grip the handlebars in hesitant confidence. We’ve all been there…and again as we taught our kids to ride a bike and maybe a third time when we taught the grandchildren…a moment in time captured on canvas.

You can see this work in “Local Color”, an exhibition of Rebecca Kinkead’s paintings on view at West Branch Gallery through June 17th.
